General information
Suprax is an antibacterial antibiotic of cephalosporin is treating infections caused by certain bacteria, such as pharyngitis, tonsillitis, sinusitis, chronic bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, moderate otitis, non-severe infections of urogenital tract.
Directions
Use Suprax as directed by your doctor. Take it with or without food with the glass of water,identical time periods. If stomach upset occurs, take with food to reduce stomach irritation. Shake well before each use. Use a measuring device marked for medicine dosing. Ask your pharmacist for help if you are unsure of how to measure your dose.
Precautions
Before using drug, tell your doctor if you are allergic to it; or to penicillins or other antibiotics, tell your medical history, especially of: kidney disease, a certain intestinal disease (colitis). Kidney function declines as you grow older. This medication is removed by the kidneys. Therefore, elderly people may be more sensitive to this drug.
Contraindications
Allergy to penicillin, 6 month's babies, pregnancy. Some cautiousness can appeared in adult patients, particularly with kidney disease.
Possible side effect
Allergic reactions as rash, itching, difficulty breathing, swelling of the mouth and face. If you have bloody stools, decreased urination, fever, red, swollen, blistered, diarrhea, bleeding. Inform your doctor about it as soon as possible.
Drug interaction
Tell your doctor about all the prescription and over-the-counter medications you use. This includes vitamins, minerals, herbal products, and drugs prescribed by other doctors. Do not start taking a new medication without telling your doctor.
Missed dose
Take the medication the missed dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and use the medicine at your next regularly scheduled time. Do not use extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
Overdose
Overdose symptoms may include allergic effects, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, and diarrhea.
Store
Store Suprax Suspension at room temperature, between 59 and 77 degrees F (15 and 25 degrees C). Store away from moisture and light. It may also be stored in the refrigerator. Do not freeze. Throw away any unused medicine after 14 days. Keep Suprax Suspension out of the reach of children and away from pets.
